RISAECO established in 2019 and founded by Risa Takaya, aspires to eliminate single-use plastics in the UAE and globally.
Plastic pollution taking on the global spotlight
There is world-wide environmental concern around single-use plastics. Whilst it is not possible to collect all the litter on our planet, we can move forward by stopping further plastic pollution.
The birth of RISAECO
Having lived and worked in Dubai for 14 years, Dubai can provide a lifestyle of convenience at your fingertips. In my hometown in Japan recycling is practiced with understanding and discipline. I left the corporate world and commenced my journey into the process of recycling and founded the company RISAECO (pronounce similarly to recycle) in 2019.
I aspire to increase the awareness of recycling and giving plastic bottles a second chance to turn into something else that is affordable, fashionable and creative. I am secretly hoping it will not only support the recycling lifestyle of the customer but also inspire the non-recycler.
8.3 billion tons of plastic have been produced and only 9% of it has been recycled.
8 million tons of plastic waste escapes into the oceans from coastal nations.
causing death of more than 1.1 million seabirds, marine lives and other animals.
there will be more plastic in the ocean than the marine animals. We need to act!
All RISAECO products are made with textiles certified with Global Recycled Standard.
The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
Please support the use of recycled materials in the products you use in everyday life.
It is not too late for us to consider the environmental damages we as human have created.
Our RPET fibers and fabrics are made from post-consumer PET drinking bottles with Global Recycling Standard Certificates. All our products are made ethically and carefully with highest standards.
Let’s start saving our environment.
